Acceleration: The Campaign for San José State University
Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Scholarship $75 million
To become tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers, San José State students require mentors and scholars who can impart knowledge in innovative and inspiring ways.
Faculty Support $51 million
Acceleration seeks funds for endowed professorships, chairs and deanships to make San José State more attractive to top professors who will add value to student research opportunities and educational experiences.
Centers and Institutes $10 million
Through privately funded centers of excellence such as the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship and the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering’s Student Success Center, San José State engages students and encourages them to explore new ideas.
New and Emerging Programs $14 million
Endowments to add, expand and sustain cross-disciplinary centers of excellence or emerging programs in areas such as global leadership will be critical in elevating San José State.
An Investment in Students $67 million
Acceleration is about students. Whether we are seeking funds for scholarships, professorships, programs or partnerships, every private dollar that comes to San José State will benefit our students and improve their lives so they can uplift the lives of others.
Outstanding Facilities for Teaching and Learning $14 million
Cutting-edge learning environments are vital to bettering lives and preparing students for successful careers. We seek funds that will allow us to mirror the high-tech society in which we live and work.
Scholarships and Fellowships $30 million
Endowments to establish need-based, merit-based and athletic scholarship programs will assist deserving students and help San José State attract top-quality undergraduates. Endowed graduate fellowships will encourage top students to pursue advanced degrees and develop as leaders in their professions.
New and Emerging Programs $8 million
We must ensure student success in every discipline by innovating academic and co-curricular programs that promote leadership development, strengthen academic advising and improve retention and graduation rates.
Undergraduate Research and Internships $15 million
Endowments for undergraduate research and internships are vitally important for jumpstarting careers as well as motivating students to apply their learning in creative and meaningful ways.
The Gateway to Silicon Valley and Beyond $24 million
San José State remains as committed as ever to strengthening our city and our region while also positioned to serve as the gateway to an even wider, more diverse, more complex world.
Community Service/Urban University $10 million
Through partnerships and joint programs, San José State has modeled how a premier urban university can serve its students while also serving as a catalytic force in its community.
Global Exchanges $11 million
We must provide opportunities for our students to become able citizens of the world by providing study abroad opportunities as well as faculty exchange and visiting scholar programs.
New and Emerging Programs $3 million
We will expand relationships and create new partnerships with government and non-profit agencies to allow students to gain additional hands-on experience with the community and the world as their classroom.
